Thursday Night Ride

We only had 7 people show up to ride tonight. Fear of rain, kept most of them away.

John N. and I headed out early, just in case it did start to rain.

Thames street in Newport,always busy.

The wind was really blowing of the ocean, that flag never stopped waving straight out.

Ocean road.

A wedding party enjoying themselves out on the rocks.

Entrance to one of the many mansions.

This group wasn't with us.

Want It Wednesday,Bar Fly,K-Edge,Race Ware Direct.

Bar Fly

Race Ware Direct

K-Edge
I've used my new Garmin 800 a few times now and already I can tell you that the way they attach the mount to you're bike with O rings, SUCKS! It's not secure at all and moves around while pushing buttons or tapping the screen. So I'm looking at after market mounts and I have found 3 so far. Some how I think quite a few other people have come to this conclusion also. The 3 mounts I've looked at so far are, Bar Fly, K-Edge and Race Ware Direct. If anyone else knows of one, please let me know. Don't forget to check out Jez Andrews blog here.

NBW Sturbridge Century Ride

No,John & I didn't do the century, we did the 50 mile loop.

It was 64 degree's at the start of the ride and 85 at the finish. The cool morning helped with the early hills.

This ride had a little of everything thrown in it as far as scenery goes. From deserted roads to heavy traffic.

This was the highest ridge on the ride in Dudley. Great ridge views.
Nothing else needs to be said.

John finishing a climb. Almost 3000 feet of climbing.

Thompson Reservoir.
The levee for the dam.

This was the first time John & I have rode together in a while. It was great to have him join me on the ride.

Thursday Night Ride

What a beautiful night for a ride. Low 70's,low humidity and only a slight breeze.

The Jamestown bridge.

This ride we did, took in quite a bit of the NBW Rhody Roundup ride.
I think the best views on the island are from here.

John N. checking out a chart.

They've got the right idea.

John and I started out early, as usual. We only had 13 people show for the ride. That's half of our normal quota.

Newport bridge in the back round.

Damn geese.
