NBW Foxboro 55

NBW Foxboro 55 by paulmnbw at Garmin Connect - Details

John and I started this ride at 8:15, we both had things we had to do later. We decided on the 36 mile loop and started out in foggy, humid weather. It pretty much stayed cloudy for most of the ride, until the last five miles, when the sun decided to peak out a little.

The ride took us up by Lake Pearl, where Tiffany used to work. That's what the sign says, but the camera flash, washed it out.

Two weeks in a row, we managed to get ourselves lost, this time for only a couple of miles, but a shitload of climbing, which sucked. This area has a few club rides and they were arrowed with red paint, which was the color of todays ride. We found ourselves on wrong roads twice, but were able to get back on track.

NBW Plymouth Century

NBW Plymouth Century by paulmnbw at Garmin Connect - Details

So neither John nor I were in shape for a century yet, so we came up with the idea of starting the ride, right before the 54 mile split. That way we would do the best portion of the century, going into Plymouth and Miles Standish State Park.

This was the first group of riders to catch us. I stopped to take a leak here and went to get back on my bike, when I saw them charging up the hill. I got out of their way and snapped this picture.

Here we are going by Plymouth Rock, it was cool and windy near the water, glad I had on long sleeves and knickers.

A few of our other riders taking a break too.

Entering Miles Standish Park, lots of rollers to wear you out.

We took a break here at the ranger station on the other side of the park. This is where I forgot to turn the timer back on, on my GPS, which caused problems later in the ride.

Another break here, we were feeling all those miles adding up. So here's where I realized I hadn't turned my timer back on, which always bums me out, because I won't get all the data from the ride. It wasn't long after this that I got us lost taking a short cut that would have saved us a few miles. Instead we ended up adding miles, once we figured out where we were. Total ride miles, 63.9. Suck Le Blur.

Mothers Day Ride

Mothers Day Ride by paulmnbw at Garmin Connect - Details

I had just enough time for a morning ride before Mothers Day festivities began. I think this was my first Rehoboth loop of the year. Man, I need to ride more.

Saturday Mystic Ride

Saturday Mystic Ride by paulmnbw at Garmin Connect - Details
John's spanking new knickers.

John and I had perfect weather for our ride down to Mystic today. We started out at 9:00, at the park & ride on exit 91 off of RT95 in CT. That early morning start helped with traffic, there were few cars on the road until we hit Mystic, then it was cars galore.

John and I are used to the traffic there, so it was no big deal to us. I did find myself checking parked cars though, to make sure I didn't get doored as I rode by them. Usually there's plenty of room to move out away from the cars, but not in Mystic, the roads are so narrow in the center of town.

Many a time I've got held up here with the draw bridge open, not today though.
