Thursday Night Ride

We had over 1/2 mile of sandy rocky road,to ride on, each way, to get from the start to the paved streets.
The clouds looked pretty bad at the start, but cleared as the night went on.

This was a unique way to let walkers and bicyclists over a closed bridge.

Plenty of hills on this ride. This is RT101,YUCK!

This was not, one of our usual Thursday night rides. It had over 1200 feet of climbing in 25 miles and I'm feeling it today. I wasn't surprised because this area is very hilly.

Recycle-A-Bike

Recycle-A-Bike is a small organization that recycles old bikes and instructs kids on how to repair their bikes in the Providence area. Unfortunately they have to move out of the building they are in and need to build a new one. They need to raise $15,000.00 by the end of July in order to fund this project. The Narragansett Bay Wheelmen, the club I belong to, just approved a $5,000.00 grant for the project, so that will really help. If you can help out, please do. Here are two links, one for their website with a nice short video and the other is for taking pledges.

June Mileage

June was a disappointing month for me riding, I only racked up 320 miles. Granted, two of our Sunday club rides were rained out,but I have to do a lot better than that in July.
