South Coast Ride

South Coast Ride by paulmnbw at Garmin Connect - Details

John and I headed out of the North Kingstown High School lot about 10:30. It was already in the mid 40's with a bright sunny sky. We were heading to the beach via some of the NBW roads that we're on quite a bit.

There were plenty of people out enjoying the warm sunny weather, it was nice after all the snow we've gotten lately.

Of course there were no shortages of surfers out in the water, getting an early start on the summer.

NBW Swansea/Touisset Tour

Wild turkey's!

John and I headed out about 10:00 to do this ride and it didn't take long for disappointment to set in, when we realized the arrows hadn't been touched up from a month ago. They were either faded or completely gone and I found myself paying more attention to the map and my gps, than normal.

Very high tide covered quite a bit of this boat ramp area.

I knew it was going to happen, we ended up missing a turn here and ended up adding on a few miles. The only reason we knew we screwed up, was that the road ended.

Back on route and the faster riders went flying by us.

We took a well deserved break here and I was able to take a few pictures of our fellow club mates.

The power plant in the back round just spent millions building these two cooling towers and now have decided to close the plant in five years. No wonder our energy here costs so much.
