South Rehoboth Loop Ride

Pond St.
Locust Ave.
Brook St.
Water St.
Summer St.
Lincoln St.
I decided to head south crossing RT 44 yesterday to extend my ride to 20 miles. It's a nice break to ride on roads you haven't been on in a while. The weather was perfect, nice and warm with low humidity.

Lance Rocks,Finishes On Podium

The 2009 Tour De France is over and Lance finished third. Not bad for an old fart, as he stated in an interview after the race.I'm so looking forward to next years Tour, to see how well he does with his new team(Radio Shack).

Bella's New Swimming Vest

Barbara & Tiffany found this vest on Ebay and it came in the other day. It helps Bella stay afloat easier and she's a lot more comfortable in the water now.

Tiffany's team went up 3-0 in the first half and couldn't hold on for a win. They gave up 3 goals in the second half and had to settle for a tie.

Hawks Win 4-3

Last night Tiffany's team won again. They gave up two goals with under two minutes to go but hung on for the win. They also only had eleven players show up, so there were no sub's and Tiffany didn't play her normal forward position.Tiffany had one assist.

NBW Tri-State Century

This say's it all.

Rt 31 has a lot of fast down hills, I hit a new top speed of 48 mph on this road.

One of the ridge views in CT.

When I went by this apple orchard in the morning, I could smell the apples.

This was the ride from hell. It usually takes me about 10 miles for my legs to start feeling good for a ride. When a ride starts climbing before that I'm in trouble and that's what happened on this ride. By the time I had 10 miles under my belt my legs were shot and it took another 10 or so before they started feeling good again. It was a beautiful day with low humidity and warm, just the way I like it, uh huh, uh huh. Forget it, it's an old song. I always carry four water bottles with me on longer rides and this ride lacked the usual convenience stores, so I had to keep my eyes open when it was time to refill. I found a pizza shop at about mile 60 and bought two 16 oz bottles of water, figuring that would be enough for the rest of the ride, it wasn't. I ran out with 15 miles to go and no stores in site. That really sucked, all I could do was keep thinking of that cooler full of ice cold water back in my car. This ride had hills galore and I hit a new top speed of 48mph. I could have gone faster but the bike started shaking and I had to get on the brakes to slow it down. All in all, a very hilly hard ride, 100.5 miles and almost 12 hours to complete including rest stops.

Friday Rehoboth Loop

Ash st.
Fairfield st.

Start, finish.

I got in a little longer ride this Friday after work, 17 miles. It was humid and hot, but worth the ride.

Tour De France

I thought today might cause a shake up in the standings, it didn't. Alberto is in second,6 seconds down and Lance is in third, 8 seconds down. It's unfortunate Levi had to drop out with a broken wrist. I guess we'll have to wait for the mountain top finishes and the individual time trial to sort things out. Go Lance!

Hawks Win Nail Biter 5-4

This game went back and forth the whole game. We would go up a goal and they would come right back and tie it up. Each team was short players, nine on each side, so there were no subs and two short on the field. Tiffany had one goal and two assists.
