These hubs will be my next purchase when I build up a new set of wheels this Fall. I'll be replacing my Ultegra hubs with these, so I'll also have to spread the rear spacing another 5mm on the rear. No problem, my frame is steel. Don't forget to check out Jez Andrews blog

Hi Paul thanks for taking part. I'm curious why you'd use xt and not ultegra for your frame?
I started out with all Ultegra about 7 years ago when I first updated my bike. It was fine for quite awhile, but as the years have gone by and due to the injury to my back, I'm finding I need lower gearing because my strength has fallen off. As you know, being a mountain biker, it's way easier to get lower gearing with XTR and XT instead of Ultegra.
You could still get lower gearing to fit on ultegra, the hubs would just fit you frame better.
Yeah, I know, but I think I'll get a little less dish on the rear wheel. Which may help with a broken spoke here and there.Plus I like my components to match as much as possible.
