I've been putting off doing this ride for a few years now, I knew it was real hilly. But this year I'm feeling better so I decided to give it a shot. |
I started out an hour earlier than our regular start because it was so hot out already and real humid. Not even a half mile into the ride and bang, the first hills start and keep coming. |
If I don't start out with at least a five mile warm up before the hills come, I'm pretty much toast for the remainder of the ride and that's what happened today. |
So my first rest stop came only ten miles into the ride, half way up a hill. I saw a big boulder calling out my name and I just had to stop. |
I also had this grand idea that I was going to attempt the 57 mile loop, yeah right. By the time I reached the 35 mile split, I knew, that was the loop I was taking. |
There were some nasty intersections and left hand turns we had to take, on our way back into the city. Not well thought out at all by the designer of this ride. |
My last rest stop, sitting on the curb, I took this shot. |
