For about 1/2 mile all the telephone poles had flags on them.
I almost made it before the clouds and rain moved in.
This ride was doomed from the start. I headed out early to try and beat the thunder storms and get in the long loop before it got dark out. Ten miles into the ride my front tire started going soft,a slow leak. I pulled over while thunder was booming and the clouds were getting dark. No time to change the tube so I whipped out my CO2 inflater and topped off the tire. Off I went and got another eight miles before I needed to fill the tire again. The rain came at 21 miles and actually felt great from the hot humid temps. It kept raining until mile 24,then I caught a break,it stopped. I topped the tire off one last time and just made it back before the sky opened up and the real rain and lighting started.
