The Hoosac Tunnel |

Two houses used for the Under Ground Railroad |
I know, not my typical Want It Wednesday item, so sue me.This is a ride, that has always scared me off, because of all the climbing it has. John has done it four times before and modified it some, to eliminate some of the climbing, so we're planning on doing it later this year. He's also made some changes to it, so we can bail out if we need to, you couldn't on the old ride. It starts in
Shelburne Falls, in western Massachusetts and heads out on the
Mohawk Trail, paralleling the
Deerfield River, and through
Charlemont, with sites used for the Under Ground Railroad. If we're up to it, we'll also check out the
Hoosac Tunnel, This area is loaded with history and plenty of majestic views, so I'm really looking forward to it. Heres the actual
route we will do. Don't forget to check out Jez Andrews Want It Wednesday
here.

Now Paul, you're not chickening out on a few climbs are you? How much climbing is there?!
I won't this time Jez. There's one bad climb that's about 1,500ft and 4 miles long. The old ride had way more.I'm actuually looking forward to it this time.
Thats sounds like my kind of climb!! Nothing beats a climbing challenge, gives a great sense of achievement at the top. Hope the decent is worth it too!!
